DomCon bills itself as The World’s Premier Professional and Lifestyle Domination Convention. Sounds interesting, right? There is annual DomCon in Los Angeles and we live near Los Angeles; are we even allowed to attend?
According to their website, DomCon is the result of Mistress Cyan‘s dedication over the years to fulfill Her vision to bring a better understanding of BDSM in The Adult Alternative Lifestyle and to bring together those in the BDSM Lifestyle, Leather, Fetish and Professional Communities to share common interests, celebrate our diversity and promote awareness through education with demonstrations, seminars, panel discussions and social events and activities. DomCon brings the lifestyle and professional BDSM communities together for a weekend of social and educational interaction with themed socials, parties, classes and workshops, panel discussions, stage shows, vendors and exhibitors. So, come join the world’s top Dominatrixes, Switches, submissives, Bondage & Fetish Models, Webmasters, Fetish Photographers, Performing Artists, Educators and Lifestyle Practitioners for a fun, educational, and unforgettable experience.
Okay, we are invited, so here we are!
DomCon is a learning experience, that’s for sure. From their magazine, I find out that there is something called Whiplr, which promises over a million play partners waiting for me. That’s a LOT of play partners!
DomCon has many events and I used them as an opportunity for multiple costume changes. Here I’m wearing a custom-made corset from Foxglove Corsetry.
The Red Carpet: Making an Entrance
One of the first official events of the convention is the Red Carpet, where attendees are invited to walk down a red carpet, have their photograph taken, and be welcomed by Goddess Phoenix.
The Goddess Phoenix greets each attendant, and this one is a serious fan.
Please do not pat the Goddess Phoenix on the shoulder; it’s not impossible that those spikes are poisoned…
A handsome couple poses. If you look closely, you can see an S&M (rather than M&M) logo on the True Scotman‘s shirt.
A Man poses with His entourage. Note the cross He wears: is He religious, does He crucify people, or was is just a gift from His nephew? We don’t know. And do you notice that He looks fatigued and that He has four ladies in attendance? Coincidence? We don’t think so.
This Princess also wears a cross. Perhaps there is a religious theme we are unaware of? Perhaps many people scream, “Oh, God” when in Her company? Or perhaps it simply provides an opportunity to acknowledge the cross while actually admiring Her décolletage?
Not all outfits are extravagant or suggestive of religion. Sometimes a basic little black dress can make a bold statement. It’s a case of less being more.
If you have taken the time to get cute tattoos, you might as well pose with them, amirite? Besides, this pose seems to be a crowd-pleaser. 🙂
The media portrays Dominatrices quite differently than they are in real life, as you can see here. Being a Domme is just another way of saying, “I am Me.”
The Mistress in the blue dress is a professional Dominatrix who wears clown face when She works. So, all those people who say, “Can’t sleep, clown will eat me,” should perhaps reconsider… 😀
A Domme poses with Her toy, a gentleman who will remain anonymous but for the name “Kalo” on his badge. Note that taking care of such a toy is a serious responsibility for the Domme and it is not uncommon that there is great affection between the two, as seen in this Domme’s face.
There are many, many wonderful people on the Red Carpet.
Take a moment to enjoy all the beautiful people and beautiful costumes.
Kitty Parade
A highlight of DomCon is the Kitty Parade, where cute cats, purring pussies, teasing tabbies, and kinky kitties parade their feline forms.
A pretty Puss with a Jesus tattoo looks purr-fect in Her latex outfit.
This Fur is having a ball! Get it? Fur. Ball. Furball? Ha ha. I crack myself up.
I asked the Tom Cat if He would paws for a photograph, while the Pussy in pink looked glamourpuss and the masked Cat copped a cat-titude. Sorry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do not know how or to what this tail is attached, nor do I ask. I just enjoy. 😉
Take a moment to enjoy some of the other denizens of the Kitty Parade. It is a lot of fun, and I’m not kitten!
Spanking
The internet states that spanking is a common form of corporal punishment, with the implication that it is something to be avoided. Not everyone agrees.
This submissive glows with happiness for the opportunity to partake. I wonder if her bottom is actually giving off heat.
Spanking is a lot of work for the Spanker. While She wants to elicit a sting, She does not want to cause undue discomfort for the spankee. And, as you can see, many folks enjoy being spanked so much that they will line up on stage waiting their turn.
Spankees are permitted to display the source of their pleasure, and the Spanker takes a moment to ensure they are well presented.
I have no words; this photograph speaks for itself. 😆
People Watching
There are many interesting people to watch, and I do.
Two lovely ladies applaud. Note the tasteful and harmonious combination of red and black, both striking and subtle. Note, also, the leather gloves protecting hands that will probably be spanking someone in the near future.
Observe the Lady’s hair tie, matched in color with Her dress. Notice the feather necklace that does not completely wrap Her neck. See Her mischievous smile, with a promise of unknown delights.
I’m just wasting my time, aren’t I? Okay, go ahead and stare at Her boobs.
At DomCon, one must always be prudent. A come-hither look might prove to be quite a unique experience. I take the photograph, nod my thanks, and carefully move away. 😯
This beautiful Lady would certainly be a treat as a Dominatrix. You might be aware that many superheros are drawn with white eyes. This is not a coincidence, my friends.
There are many other fun people to watch at DomCon. Take a moment to make up your own stories about them.
Pony Show
Pony Play means different things to different people, and you should probably not google it while at work. However, at DomCon, Pony Play is ponies, playing, and putting on a show.
This pony has a straight bar bit and an English bridle, but no nose band. That might make him hard to control. However, he does not seem anxious or high-strung. Perhaps he is gelded?
This pony expresses excitement as the show begins. Perhaps she has trained hard, has prepared herself, and is confident in her abilities. Or perhaps she just has the giggles. We do not know.
Blinders are put on a horse to prevent it from panicking by what is behind or beside itself, and a muzzle prevents it from biting. Plus, this horse is collared. This must be some kind of bad-ass pony!
Okay, let the show begin!
A Judge first examines the pony’s conformation: muzzle, eyes, ears, neck, shoulder, chest, withers — the list is quite extensive — to not only ensure the health of the pony but to rate its qualities. Notice how its owner looks on with approval.
An Owner makes a final adjustment before the show begins. The pony giggles in anticipation.
The Owner presents His pony to the judges and waits patiently for permission to begin.
As with well-trained four-legged ponies, this pony responds not to verbal commands, but to gentle pressure of the reins. A crop is carried by the Owner, but used only for show and never to strike the beast.
Take special notice of the amount of attention the Owner pays to his steed. Ponies are sensitive, precious creatures and respond to only the most conscientious and loving Owners.
Be loosening the pressure on the reins, the Owner indicated He wants the pony to trot. She prances gaily around the room.
The mane and tail on this pony is impressive. I suspect the Owner uses a Verticoli to brush it. Notice how lightly the Owner holds the reins; as with any horse, they have a delicate mouth that can be damaged with rough handling.
The Owner must pay close attention to the pony for, although this is called Pony Play, it is certainly a labor of love between the two.
Please enjoy a few photographs of other ponies horsing around at DomCon.
Branded
Branding has a long history of being used for purposes other than those used by folks attending DomCon.
While photographing attendees on the Red Carpet, I took note of this Dominitrix and her submissive for the same reason you are taking note of them. 😉
I noticed the look of adoration on the submissive’s face and wondered how her Dominatrix was able to touch her that way.
At the direction of her Mistress, the lady turns and bends over, revealing a wealth I had not previously appreciated.
The Dominatrix explains that Her submissive has been branded with a shape that will eventually become a heart. She tells Her submissive to stand up, and the submissive turns to the small audience of photographers and says, “She loves me.”
And that, my readers, is how you win a woman’s heart.
Table Dancers
Sometimes you are sitting in a quiet restaurant and you see a table lighted from underneath, and you feel an urge—no! a compulsion—to dance.
So you grab your friend, and you dance!
“Those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” —Friedrich Nietzsche
Mistress Photoshoot
A high point of DomCon is when the Mistresses gather in one place and permit Themselves to be photographed.
The Mistresses (and one gentleman) pose for the camera, and we can finally see their glory all at once. Breath-taking, isn’t it?
Some photographers specialize in specific angles and perspectives. Yes, yes, they do.
The beautiful Mistresses enjoy the attention and…you aren’t even reading this, are you?
There are plenty of Redheads to go around, and these two Mistresses allow us to bask in Their radiance.
A photographer uses his camera’s flash to take a light reading of the Mistress’ bottom. I mean, costume.
The light reading is a success, and many other photographers join in the imprompt photoshoot.
Yours Truly
Of course, we packed as many costumes as we could fit in our suitcase because, well, that’s what we love to do.
Enjoy these photographs of us at DomCon, plus a photoshoot in red. 😆
DomCon happens every year, and is open to anyone willing to embrace the moment and live. Maybe we will see you there some time…?
