Summer is full upon us (as long as you live in Southern California   😆 ), and there are dozens of both organized and casual beach volleyball games to be seen throughout the day on San Diego beaches.

A game typically looks like this. Guys in old-fashioned boardshorts and a few girls in bikinis hitting the ball around. (We’re not sure why that fellow has angel wings tattooed on his back; profound philosophical statement, or too much tequila one weekend during Spring Break?)

But if you are lucky (like we are  😎 ), you happen upon much more interesting games of volleyball!

Cheering for your favorite team may not be as tiring as actually playing, but it is still important to drink plenty of fluids.

awa Travels Tip: Beach Volleyball is an Olympic Sport … but that doesn’t mean it can’t be good fun. Put on your wackiest costume and go spike a few.
